Sonali is able to draw from a rich and varied background that speaks to her interest in technology, the law, and engaging intellectual problems. Between Stanford and Columbia Law School, Sonali worked as a Director at Floreat, Inc., the Silicon-Valley based embedded multimedia and communications software provider. Working in a senior position at a small company like Floreat gave Sonali an insight into the needs of the client from the client perspectiveónot the least of which are efficiency, technical competency, intellectual rigor, and professionalism. Sonaliís legal practice encompasses a variety of complex and emerging legal issues, including the vanguard of intellectual property law. She has experience defending clients in a number of different technical fields, including medical devices, web design, and speech recognition.
Prior to joining Durie Tangri, Sonali was an associate with Keker & Van Nest and served as a law clerk to the Honorable Sidney Thomas of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. She graduated as a Kent Scholar from Columbia Law School, where she served as Executive Editor of the Columbia Human Rights Law Review and a teacherís assistant to Professor Michael Dorf. As an undergraduate at Stanford, Sonali earned degrees in Mathematics and Economics.
